I write this in love and concern for all who receive it.
Last week I had a dream which made this video from Swamiji, below, seem all the more important and time sensitive.
In the dream, these things in the video (below) had already come to pass, and we were living simply, in very reduced circumstances. There was food – but it was very simple food – probably all grown by our own hands…We were living in simple buildings, they were sturdy enough – but I noticed a large hole at the far end of one building… Do the buildings represent the physical state of the world? Or will something happen that causes harm to many of our homes and buildings? I don’t know. But the accommodations were simple, and the food was simple. We were out of the weather at least. And we were by then used to the lifestyle, and we had been living very simply like that for several years…At the end of the dream, we were sitting with Swamiji, eating a meal together. The austerities put a bit of a damper on the “gaiety” – but there was a sense of friendship and peace, and yes – a quiet, strong inner joy, and devotion to Master…despite whatever it was we had been through, that inner life was sustained. At the end of the meal – Swamiji made a statement that made me feel that these things were already in motion, and could not be changed.
All that can be changed is how well we prepare inwardly and outwardly for such events. I wrote to Swamiji saying that the dream made me feel that these things were rather close at hand. He said he agreed, and he was glad to see that in my dream that things had turned out so well. (Hmmmmm... The dream had only the barest creature comforts: rudimentary food and shelter).
This dream stuck with me for many days…In the past I have had some dreams that foretold future events – though I am by no means a specialist in that arena! But I thought to mention the dream because it grabbed my attention, and Swamiji had already wanted to grab our attention with the video, below. Also – in the days following the dream, I came to realize that other spiritual people were also having increased dreams or intuitions along these lines. They came from many spiritual traditions…
So – you can always take it with a grain of salt – but you might want to do something in preparation. If one reads the headlines, and gets out a calculator, it is hard to believe there will not be a total financial collapse of the monetary system. And other disasters seem to be on the increase, as well. It is all part of the fragile aura of the earth right now. And over 1 in 8 Americans is now on food stamps – around 40 million…and it is projected to go up to 43 million in 2011. Food stamps are the new bread lines.
If I dwell too much on these things – it can affect my inner peace, and so I decided to increase my prayers for the world, in terms of simply sending blessings and peace to anyone in need now. And, as I store food – I also want to save some simply to be able to give it away. This keeps my heart expansive. I mentioned this to Swamiji and he said yes – many people will come to us for help. So – watch the video and assess your level of preparation physically, mentally and spiritually. All are necessary.
(I must say though, that those of us who lived here at Ananda in the “old days” have lived a life that was almost as simple as what I saw in my dream, but we were younger then! And, in the dream I’m pretty sure that anything we were eating, we had grown and harvested ourselves. So – no running to the store…)
And what really gave it all perspective is that Swamiji was glad that in my dream it had all turned out so well…And we must live our lives – but keep these things in mind. Move forward on your “plan A.” Buy land in the country, if you haven’t already…Plant a garden…pray and meditate, and send blessings to all. Paramhansa Yogananda said that even in very challenging times – the rules of divine prosperity still exist, though on a much simpler and relative level. Nayaswami Kriyananda said that “the secret of prosperity is generosity and gratitude.”
by Swami Kriyananda
We are on the eve of a great change. The world is not on a downward swing as many think. The challenges now facing the world are bringing the lessons needed to move civilization toward a new dawn. Paramhansa Yogananda long predicted such a time.
He predicted that there would be worldwide economic instability, hardships, and other upheavals—things that sound very negative if they didn’t presage extraordinary spiritual opportunities for us individually, and also for society as a whole. These difficulties, he said, will bring about a widespread change in values, away from materialism toward simplicity and a greater dependence on God. He prophesied three hundred years of peace, with prosperity becoming relatively equal throughout the world…
Wherever you live, try always to be a channel for the Light. How do you serve the Light? By giving joy, not sorrow; peace, not nervousness; love, not hatred. It’s people who love God and think of God who are keeping this country and world afloat. If it weren’t for such people, this world would plunge into even greater darkness.
So don’t be afraid. When you love God and act sensibly, He takes care of you whatever happens, wherever you live. Even if you’re going in the wrong direction, He’ll correct you. This is something Paramhansa Yogananda promised. I know it’s true because I’ve seen that protection again and again in my life, and in the lives of other devotees.
So – timing… My guess is that this is a year to get your plan seriously in motion, as per the video, above. We may need these things as soon as next year – or by the ominous 2012. Your guess is a as good as mine…but there are enough predictions out there from various traditions that seem to be lining up. Of course, I’d love to be wrong, but this feeling has stuck with me since that dream. And Swamiji really does seem to want us to pay attention on this!
And finally, here some practical items that might be helpful, no matter where you are:
Emergency garden seeds : 23 Jumbo Seed Packets Produces 1 Acre Garden
Emergency pre-cooked pinto beans – anything like this is just to get you through a rough spell in the beginning…
(Our family grows many of our fruits and vegetable and we dehydrate them and use them in soups or smoothies…)
