Today, Friday, Ben has been staying awake for an hour or more at a time – sometimes laughing and talking with friends…Then he gets tired and needs to sleep again. The brain still needs lots of healing. See him well in body, mind and soul.

Here was the Wednesday update – the first time he woke up for more than just a minute:“Ben was awake and talking for about 15 minutes for the first time since his accident. He was coherent and lucid and smiling with friends! Then when asked if his head hurt he said yes and went back to sleep.”
So he is definitely making progress!

(Note – For those of you who don’t get my regular newsletter : On Saturday, Nov. 5, Benjamin, a college student, was hit by a car that pulled out in front of him while he was riding his bicycle. Ben has been in ICU since then with a fractured skull and other injuries. The doctors say he is very lucky…)
